Age 15, 16 & 17



   - Registration is expected to be between 35 and 60 players depending on the division

   - Players will be divided equally into teams of 15- 17 players after 3 on ice assessments practices.     
   - Projected number of teams in each division

          Peewee  2 teams of 16

          Bantam  2 teams of 16

          Midget    2 teams of 17

   - Teams are allocated a shared 50 minute practice time at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre.  

   - Each team is allocated a 60 minute game time per week at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre.
           (Practices are tentatively set for Tuesday & Friday evenings and Sunday afternoon)

   - Home games can be MONDAY, SATURDAY or SUNDAY. 

   - Away games are determined by the opposing centres. 

   - The Niagara Distrct Local League (NDLL) consists of teams from the following centres.  

Beamsville, Dunnville, Fort Erie, Grimsby, Lincoln,   Niagara on the Lake, Pelham, Thorold, Welland and West Lincoln.  Wainfleet and Merriton may have teams in some divisions.

   - 3 assessments pre-season
   - Regular season:   Each child is generally
on the ice twice a week (sometimes 3 times, if out they play an out of town game , or even a home game in the same week) 
   - Novice and Atom can expect to play Saturday and Sunday one day at home, and one day away. 
   - Our goal is to get teams on the ice at least 2 times per week (combination of games and practices).  

   - Each player will finish the season with 19 to 21 shared practices between October and March 31.
   - Each team will have up to 26 regular season games

           - 13 Home games at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre.

           - 13 Away in any one of the other centres mentioned before.
   - Teams will be placed in sub-divisions based on regular season standings.

   - Playoffs will consist of a six (6) round robin play-down games.

            - 3 Home games at the Vale Health and Wellness Centre..

            - 3 Away in any one of the other centres mentioned before.
   - The local league season ends at March Break with only the top two teams from each sub-division grouping moving forward into the championship round. 

      22-24 hours of practices, 16 home + 16 away.  A grand total of  53-56 hours of hockey  -  $12 per hour!!!

   PCMHA provides each team not qualifying for the championship, one additional ice time for their use at the end of the season.  
This program is designed to further the development each player's individual skating skills and to teach them the basic game strategies. 

Participation in the local league program provides our players with the opportunity to play opposing teams of various ability levels, increasing the level of competition.



     Port Colborne teams adhere to article 12 of the Niagara District Local League manual of operations,  
        Article 12
        a)  All coaches must strive to provide equal ice time, period by period and game by game, except:
                i) In the last three (3) minutes of a closely contested game                           
               ii) when a coach is sitting out a player for disciplinary reasons as the result of an event that took place prior to or  during the game.


            The emphasis is on creating a fun team-building environment that promotes good sportsmanship

The  Convener positions for the Novice, Atom, Peewee, Bantam, and Midget divisions are all vacant.

Please note that all volunteers are required to have valid certification to the minimum of Respect in Sports (Activity Leader), and a Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC).
