Off to the Championship Game
The boys played another 2 games in one day, and once again, won both games by working hard as a unit.

The first game of the day was a battle with the top Grimsby team.
The boys came away victorious, but for the first time in the tournament, they were scored on.  It was about half way through the 1st period, when Grimsby scored the first goal on our team by ways of a wrap around that caught Ryan by surprise.
That sparked the boys to get the train a rolling, and that they did.  With 3:24 left in the 1st period, Grimsby took a holding call; seven seconds later, Evan scored on the power-play assisted by brother Lukas and Kyle.  Then with 1:39 left in the 1st, we witnessed one of the strangest goals ever seen.  One of our players tried to clear the puck around the boards, the puck hit an abnormal crease in the corner boards and the puck bounced straight into the air towards the net and some how slipped in behind Ryan.  Total garbage goal, but they count.
The 2nd period was a tight  battle for supremacy, but with 24 seconds left in the middle stanza, Kyle rifled the biscuit past the Grimsby keeper to tie the game.  What a spark that created!!!
Seven seconds into the 3rd period, Conner won the face off to Jack, and Jack hit Conner with a pass at the blue line; Conner took a good wrist shot just inside the blue-line that eluded the surprised keeper to bag the eventual game winner.  The flood gates opened after that.  Matt scored his first of two finding the back of the net through a screen.  Helpers went to Kyle and Darius.  Then Hunter's point shot found the back of the net via the sdame method with the assists being awarded to Jack and Conner.  Mason finally found the mark, bagging one with the lone helper going to Logan.  With less than three minutes left in the game, Lukas scored unassisted, and then Matt scored his 2nd goal of the game with a shot that had eyes  with just 2 seconds left in the game.
A fantastic effort given forth by every kid on the team to rally in the third and claim victory 8 - 2.

We all went for dinner, had a great time and consumed some great food, thank you Sandy Crocker for setting us up with the reservation.

Then it was back to arena to face the Six Nations Black Hawks.  Evan opened the scoring on the power-play for the third time in four games early in the first period. Two minutes later Darius bagged his first goal of the tournament with the lone helper  going to Lukas.
The boys skated into the second period with confidence as they pretty well dominated the 1st period.  Lukas scored twice on the same shift to lift the team to a commanding 4 - 0 lead.  Dillan assisted on both goals and Jack got a helper on one of them.  The boys had many chances in the second and third periods to increase the score, but the Six Nations goalie played strong making some key saves to keep his team close.  Ryan made some fine key saves late in the game to preserve his 3rd shutout in four games with a 4 - 0 victory to close out the preliminary round.

On Thursday afternoon the boys will face-off against the Thorold Impact Promotions Black Hawks for the Tournament Championship.

Go Get Em Boys!!!
