The Champions Have Been Decided
The 52nd Annual Golden Puck House League Hockey Tournament comes to an end with three great championship games.

Congratulations to this years Champions

     Novice    -  Millbrook Stars
     Atom      -  Ingersoll Express
     Peewee   -  Linsay Muskies

With Forty-four (44) teams rolling into the 52nd Annual Golden Puck Tournament, it was sure thing that many families would come together and have a great time.  And that they did.  There were a lot of happy faces wandering around throughout the corridors and rinks in Port Colborne and Fort Erie.

But when it all came down to the last three Championship games, it was excitement to the max.  All three games were full of end to end rushes, and glorious scoring opportunities that resulted in some really nice goals, as well as some excellent saves made by the young goalies who gave their teams the chance to be the one.

The first Championship game saw the Millbrook Stars and Pelham Panthers start off with a bang.  It was a very exciting game that had all the fans cheering real loud for both teams, but in the end it was the young Stars who squeaked past the Panthers in a 4 - 2 victory to claim the Novice Golden Puck Cup.

The next game was again, a fantastic effort by both teams.  The Lindsay Muskies outlasted the hard come back charge by the Sturgeon Lake Thunder that kept the game very close.  It was one of those nail biter games full of excitement to the last second that ended with the Lindsay squad edging out a 3 - 2 win to capture the Peewee Golden Puck Cup.

The last game was one that had to be decided in overtime.  The Mariposa Lightning scored their second goal of the game with just 21 second left to force an overtime stanza; however, right off the start of the 4 on 4 overtime stanza, the Ingersoll Express scored the game winning goal on their the first rush into the Lightning zone.  It was a very fast overtime period that gave Ingersoll the joy of capturing the Atom Golden Puck Cup.

On behalf of the Golden Puck Hockey Committee, and in the name of hockey,

Thank you to all the teams who participated this weekend.  We look forward to seeing you all come back next year.
