Wave Frenzy Tournament Playing Rules 


• All teams should report to the Tournament Convenor and register at least 45 minutes prior to their first game. All players and team officials must sign the game sheet prior to each game. All official rosters and pickup players to be submitted prior to playing. 
• Teams must be available to play up to 30 minutes prior to scheduled start times. 
• Teams must be ready to go on the ice immediately after the preceding game even if it finishes early. • Flood at the end of every game. 
• There will be a (3) minute warm-up period. 
• OWHA rules shall apply to this event. All suspensions will be enforced according to the OWHA Constitution, By-laws and Rules and Regulations. 
• Games will consist of (3) 10-10-12 periods. • Round Robin format. There will be no overtime played in round robin series. Points will be awarded as follows: two (2) points for a win, one (1) point for a tie and no points for a loss. In Championship games, if the game is tied at the end of regulation play then teams will play five (5) minute stop time sudden victory periods until a goal is scored. Teams will not switch ends for the first overtime period. If still tied teams will have a shootout consisting of 5 shooters a side. Most scores wins. First 5 shooters must be indicated on the game sheet prior to the Championship game. 
• If there is a tie in points after round robin games, the following tie-breakers will be used to break the tie: i.) Number of wins; ii.) Record against other tied teams; iii.) Goals scored minus the goals against in round robin play; iv) Fewest goals allowed in round robin play; v.) Most periods won in round robin play; vi.) Fewest penalty minutes in round robin play; vii) First goal scored in series; viii.) Flip of a coin.   
• Tournament Convenor will invoke a mercy rule at any time during the game when a team is ahead by 5 goals. The referee will inform each coach that the remainder of regulation time will be played in straight time until the goal differential is less than 5 goals. 
• One 30 second timeout will be allowed for each team during all tournament games. Overtime is not a new game. 
• Home teams must wear different coloured jerseys. In the event of a conflict, the home team must change their jerseys. • The home team will be listed first on the official tournament schedule. 
• The tournament convenor will have final say concerning eligibility of player and applicability of tournament rules should a dispute arise. 
• Each team is guaranteed (3) tournament games. 

THE TOURNAMENT COMMITTEE RESERVES THE RIGHT TO MAKE ALL DECISIONS REGARDING INTERPRETATION OF THE TOURNAMENT RULES, OBJECTIONS OR PROTESTS.
