New this year !!! NO MORE TIE GAMES !!!!
That's right...Just like the NHL
But on a smaller platform.
Can you feel the excitment of tournament hockey???
Starting with this years tournament, we will no longer have any tie games in Round Robin play.
If the score of the game is tied after regulation time has expired, the teams will engage In a Sudden Victory Overtime Period, followed by a sudden death simultaneous shootout.
Here's exactly how it will work:
BASICS: It's 3-on-3 play for one minute of sudden-death hockey;
PENALTIES & POWER PLAYS: All minor penalties will end with regulation time; All misconduct or
major penalties still have to be served out. (Therefore the penalized player cannot play in the
OT 3 on 3, nor the shoot-out if nessasary).
Sudden Victory Overtime Rules for Round Robin Games are as follows…
· The single overtime will be 1 minute long with stop time . NO TIME-OUTS
· NO changing on the fly or at any stoppage of play, also the goalie must remain on the ice at all times
during the overtime period.
· Minor penalties called during overtime will result in a penalty shot. Coincidental minors shall be served
the usual manor.
· Any major or match penalties called, will be served in the usual manor and a penalty shot will be
awarded.
If the game is still tied after Sudden Victory Overtime Period, a 'sudden-death' shoot-out will take place to reach a decision. All players can be used for the shoot-out including the players who just finished the 1 minute 3 on 3 period
Note: Your team must use all of its players on the game sheet before a player can shoot for the second time.
Points will be awarded as shown for round robin games
3 Points for a Regulation Win
2 Points for a Overtime/Shoot-out Win
1 Point for a Overtime/Shoot-out Loss
0 Points for a Regulation Loss
On behalf of the Golden Puck Comittee, we wish you all GOOD LUCK, and HAVE FUN !!!
