Notice for Parents
Months ago, when we learned that we would be permitted to return to the ice, the PCMHA executive went into action to create a safe and fun return to play plan. Once we understood what the season would look like, we decided to align ourselves with businesses and professionals that held the same Core Values that we do.

The executive members, and all volunteers, spent countless hours to create the season you see now.  Even though kids have not been playing games, we decided to invest a significant amount of money into development.
We felt that this would offset any loss in games and give the same value for the enrollment fees. When we started the season we shared all of our information and protocols with each coach and player and parent. Unfortunately, in the past week we have noticed that these protocols have become relaxed and we have started answering to the City and other agencies for this.
Kids have stopped wearing  masks, mostly after games and are running from change room to change room, sharing drinks and starting to show disrespect to coaches and executive members. The use of jerseys or hands as a face covering is not permitted. Some parents have started to linger in the change rooms and even been caught at the benches talking to coaches and kids. All of these are a complete violation of the plan we presented and will put us at risk of losing our season if we can’t regain control.
We would like to ask each parent for their help and cooperation in preserving our season and maintaining the integrity of our Hockey Association.  Please speak to your kids about following these rules closely and parents, please lead by example. To be clear, if these violations continue, teams will experience discipline such as suspensions from practice and even removal from the league. We must remember the safety of our players and staff first and foremost, and we must ensure that they have a place to skate every week. Even though you are not inside to see it, the kids are on the ice, laughing and having fun. They are learning serious skills that will shine through next season.
The executive members of the PCMHA have always held your child’s safety in the highest regard and coaches have invested their free time to create the best possible experience under these difficult circumstances.

We would like to thank all coaches and development staff for their dedication and attention to safety as we navigate through a fragile season.

A player can score; it takes a team to win!
Stay safe.
