Operational Update

Just a couple items we would like to update you all on.

First, OMHA has approved us for gameplay and we will start next weekend. Look for your schedules to update.

Second, and more important. The city of Port Colborne has received numerous complaints from staff, the YMCA, Security, and other PCMHA parents in relation to those not wearing a mask indoors (corresponding reports are on file with the city to corroborate these cases). As we are all aware, there are legitimate examples where people have a medical exemption. The relatively high incidence of patrons not wearing masks however, suggests to the city and PCMHA that some people may be taking advantage.

Niagara Region Public Health does frequently visit the Vale centre, and are aware of the protocols and expectations for people to be following when in the facility. At the end of the day, rather than debate the effectiveness of the rules, I'm sure we can all agree that the most important thing is that the Vale Health & Wellness Centre remains open, and the kids can continue to play hockey.

Parent/Spectator Restrictions

   ·    One parent/spectator per player are permitted within the facility. Under orange "restrict" the framework indicates each person under the age of 18 years who is engaged in activities at the facility may be accompanied by one parent or guardian. Therefore, one parent or guardian for each person under the age of 18 is permitted (in accordance with maximum occupancy limits).
   ·    Parents/guardians will be assigned to a designated area, must be wearing a mask, will be screened upon arrival, required to sign- in, and are required to leave at the designated EXIT

Let's all work together to keep the Vale open and operational for our kids.
