Incident At Elmvale Tournament
Submitted By Admin on Wednesday, November 24, 2021
The PCMHA executive received a written complaint from the president of the Elmvale Minor Hockey Association regarding a serious incident that occurred during their November tournament.

The incident consisted of appalling language as well as acts of violence by means of throwing items at the officiating staff and arena personnel by supporting family members and friends.

Not only does this violate Hockey Canada's respect in sport training and policies, it is also extremely embarrassing to this association that any parent would act or allow any member of their group to act in this manner.
Due to this action there is the possibility that all PCMHA teams will not be permitted to attend any future tournaments in Elmvale.

When attending games, training and tournaments, whether it's away or at home, we must always remember that it is not just our players and coaches representing the PCMHA and the City of Port Colborne.
It is also important to remember that the players, our children, are watching our actions. This incident is still under investigation and will be dealt with once all information has been gathered.

It has been a stressful 20 months on the road to get back to normal game play and tournaments. Passion is acceptable and expected, violence in any form is not. It's a game, and rule number one of this is to have fun. Let's all remember that.

Tim Charles 2nd VP PCMHA
