New years update
On behalf of the PCMHA executive, we would like to wish you all a Happy New Year.

With Dr. Moore's recent announcement to the change in isolation and screening guidelines, and the obvious “honour system” approach, the PCMHA has decided to lift all crossover restrictions for minor hockey. Teams will be expected to self-monitor and ensure that screening is occurring via the Sports Heads app.

For players/coaches that are not on a specific teams app, they must sign in at the entrance with security. Coaches are expected to observe staff and players for symptoms and direct them to leave immediately should any be present. Masks must remain on at all time until helmets can be donned and players step on the ice.

Should any player or volunteer exhibit any symptoms, it is up to their own discretion to follow the Provincial guidelines found at this link. Upon the discovery of a positive test result, please report this to your head coach and the head coach must then report (using no names) to the President and 2 nd VP of the PCMHA. At that time, with coordination with public health, it will be determined if that team must pause play or continue.

This direction will remain in place until the PCMHA is otherwise directed by the City of Port Colborne, Public Health, the Provincial Government or the NDHL and OMHA. The coming weeks will be a challenge. There is no doubt that all teams will experience Covid related cases and hockey may slow from time to time. But collectively we can all play a part in reducing the risk and transmission rates within our association.
