Let's Play Some Hockey
It’s time to get those skates sharpened and sticks taped!
Last week, the Ontario Government announced a gradual reopening plan. The details of this plan were quite crypticand confusing. After consulting with the OMHA and the City of Port Colborne, we are pleased to announce that hockey will start again Jan 31 st.
All we know at this time is that players and teams will be returning to the pre-shutdown form of hockey. Please check your schedules on the PCMHA website. Our scheduler has been working hard to ensure that as many games as possible will be made up.
There are many factors to consider while doing this, so please be patient. That being said, the City is unclear on what the rules will be for attendees. The regulations have not been updated and they are unsure on what attendance will look like. Please be prepared for sudden changes once you arrive at the rink.
As always we will do our best to update you as soon as we know, but the most important thing are our kids getting back to what they love. As before, proof of vaccination is required to enter the vale center and other arenas. Players, parents and coaching staff are still required to screen via the Sports Headz app.
Masks must be worn at all times until players can don their helmets. Coaches must wear masks at all times while in the change rooms and on the bench. As of now, the regional guideline for entering change rooms 15 minutes in advance is still in place. Any player that tests positive for Covid must be reported by the coach to myself or Randy. As always, we will continue to take one day at a time. Any day on the ice is a good day.
