What a Great Game !!!
The coach had a Vision, he had a plan for the Execution
The kids had Ambition, and played with Determination.
This all came together to equal Success
It was a Saturday afternoon at the Vale Centre, the visiting team was the West Lincoln Wrath; with three kids out of the Sailors line-up, everyone played great, as the kids stepped it up to solidify an impressive win.
The first period was a well played with both teams going back and forth for most of the period. Half way through the period, the Wrath opened the scoring, but as the game progressed from there, it became the Sailors game to win and take charge. During the last couple minutes, the Smith Industrial Sailors took charge and turned the game around with their dominant execution. Conner managed to get a shot away in the closing seconds to score with 0.2 seconds left. Assist went to Robert.
That last second goal really sparked the team to start the second period. Kyle scored in the first minute of the period to take the lead. The only assist went to Jack. Three minutes later Evan got a pass from Charlie on a breakout and Evan went all the way in slipping the biscuit into the five hole to get the potential game winning goal. The Wrath got their second goal of the game a minute before Evan scored his 2nd goal of the game with just over 3 minutes left in the period; helpers went to Conner and Kaleb.
The third period was full of excitement as the Sailors score 4 more goals to solidify the victory. Keaton made some very good save with his best being a blocker save off a really hard wrist shot from the slot. Kaleb scored the 5th goal with assists going to Kyle and Lukas. Then during a power-play, Darius let go a great wrist shot from the point and Dillan was there to stuff the rebound home. The 7th goal was score by Darius as he made an awesome rush, turning to the net with determination and stuffed it in just inside the post. Conner finished off the scoring in a scramble with Kaleb getting the lone assist.
A great game played by everyone, they worked hard for the win and deserved the win.
