TOURNAMENT
Tournament Rules and Regulations
1. There will be three ten minute stop time periods.
Teams must be ready to start 15 minute before your schedule game.
2. NO TIME OUTS during round robin games,
· Only ONE time-out per team during regulation time of any playoffs games.
· If at any time during the last 5 minutes of the 3rd period in any round robin games where the spread is greater than 5 goals, the clock will go to straight running time.
· The game clock will revert back to stop time if the spread is reduced to 4 goals.
3. The first team named on the schedule is the home team.
4. Points will be awarded as shown for round robin games:
Goals for will not exceed a total of plus minus of 7
3 points for a win
1 point for a tie
0 points for a loss
Note:
Novice Division
The top team in each division and one wild card team with the most points will move on to the semi-finals
Atom Division
The top team in each division with the most points will advance to the playoffs.
Peewee Division
The top team in each division and three (3) wild card team with the most points will move on to the semi- finals
Wildcard Team
must play a different Pool winner in semi-final games

Tie Breaker Format:
a) Team with most wins
b) Head to Head Method for two teams ONLY.
c) The tie breaking formula is (Goals For / (Goals For + Goal Against) = your percentage) Highest % moves on
d) The plus differential on goals for and against.
e) The lowest total of goals scored against.
f) The highest total of goals scored for.
g) The team with the least number of total penalty minutes in the tournament.
h) If the teams are all still tied after all the above, the tie will be broken by the flip of a coin.
i) The best looking mom contest, voting done by the Golden Puck Hockey Committee.(lol)
6. New: Sudden Victory Overtime Rules
Overtime will start with 4 on 4; then 3 on 3; then 3 on 3 again; and if the game is still tied, a sudden death shoot out will occur.
Note: All minor penalties end with regulation time; all misconduct or major penalty still have to be served out and the player cannot participate until the penalty is over
a) The overtime will be played in 1 minute periods. NO TIME-OUTS
b) NO changing on the fly or at any stoppage of play, also the goalie must remain on the ice at all times during the overtime periods.
c) Minor penalties called during overtime will result in a penalty shot. Coincidental minors shall be served in the usual manor. For the purpose of this rule, any major or match penalties called, will be served in the usual manor and a penalty shot will be awarded.
d) Your team will have to submit a list of your players to be used in the overtime period(s) before the game. This list will indicate the players that your team will use during the 1 minute overtime period the lineup will show 4 skaters for the first overtime period (these players cannot be used again unless there is a shoot-out); then 3 skaters for the second overtime period (these players cannot be used again unless there is a shoot-out); then once again 3 skaters for the third overtime period (these players cannot be used again unless there is a shoot-out)
e) If still tied: A sudden death shoot out will occur. With a player from each team shooting at the same time, will continue until a winner is declared.
Note: Your team must use all of its players listed on the game sheet before any one player can shoot for the second time.
7. All O.M.H.A. and Niagara District rules will apply plus the above mentioned times and overtime rules.

9. Protests: All protests must be in writing and submitted within 30 minute of the completion of the protested game. Each protest must be accompanied by a $100.00 cash deposit. This will be refunded if the team wins its protest.
10. Suspensions:
Any player or team official receiving a match penalty will be expelled from further tournament play.
