The 2018 Martin Van Gool Memorial
Golden Puck Hockey Tournament is growing.
This year the tournament is at an all time high
in regards to registered teams.
Commissioner JVG has been working very hard at making this year’s tournament a super success. He has added a few more teams into the fold to bring the total to an amazing 48 teams. With this effort put forth, he quickly realized that there would need to be more ice to play on. As in the past we have used arenas from the surrounding area to make this tournament happen for all these teams coming in from all over Southern Ontario.
The main arena is still the Vale Centre in Port Colborne with the two Teeder Kennedy ice pads. We have managed to get ice time at three other complexes. The newly renovated Wainfleet arena will host some games on Friday and Saturday along with the Crystal Ridge Arena in Ridgeway available for Saturday. Also joining into the tournament excitement with ice time is the Fort Erie Leisureplex; their two ice pads being The Kinsmen and Jaycee pads will host our games on Friday and Saturday as well.
Once Sunday comes along for all the playoffs and Championships games, the only venue will be the Vale Centre in Port Colborne.
Good Luck to everyone and have fun !!!
